Now that there is a chill in the air and fall is here, people are starting to worry about wintertime illnesses such as whooping cough and influenza. Here in Texas, we are set to have the worst twelve months of whooping cough cases in the past 50 years! So I was not surprised last week when I received a worried call from my friend Amber who recently found out she is pregnant with twins. Amber has a colleague at work who was just diagnosed with whooping cough. Amber is only eight weeks pregnant, and works in the same department as this lady, so she was very worried that she may have been exposed to whooping cough.
